Smart meter and community engagement workshops LSx was pleased to be involved in a series of workshops held by the Department of Energy and Climate Change to help develop the community engagement programme for the roll-out of smart meters. UK energy companies will begin the roll-out in 2014, with the aim of having one installed in every home in the UK by 2019. The workshops, which were attended by a group of key stakeholders, showed that providing advice and guidance is important but not enough on its own. A wide range of behaviour change interventions will be needed, delivered at a community level with the support and involvement of trusted local partners. |

As part of the Clean Air Fund from the London Mayor, TfL are also working with LSx on the Cleaner Air 4 Schools project, which aims to raise awareness of air quality around schools, teaching students, teachers, parents and school governors to measure pollution with ‘citizen science’ methods, and empowering them to change behaviour in friends and family. | |
